I changed our table names today. Since the beginning of school our table names have been color words. Now that we have 8 sight words, we have more than enough to make our table names sight words! Below are the sight words for each table.
What a fantastic idea! I will have to implement this in our classroom! What a great new way to sort groups for centers too! ;) www.seedsofnoledge.blogspot.com Jenea
Thank you! I love how the kids were super excited to be sitting at the "see" or the "like" table. They are practicing their sight words w/o even knowing it. I love sneaking learning on them :).
Hi! Was looking around for CAFE ideas and found your blog. I love the Common Core app and just added it to my blog! Hope you will come and visit! Chris Kazanjian http://mrskazanjianskindergarten.blogspot.com/
Hello! I love having the Common Core App on my iPhone, as well as on the side of my blog! Very helpful. I will be sure to check your blog out too! I love getting new ideas from fellow teachers =).
Just found your blog. Love your idea of hanging sight words over their tables. I think I will do this with some of those harder words that they are having difficulty learning.
Thanks, Ann @http://mrsgreeneskindergartenkorner.blogspot.com
Thank you for stopping by! I used the di-cut machine in our teacher workroom, glued them together, laminated and hung them up! Good luck making some of your own too! =)
I love this. We aren't allowed to hang things from the ceiling, but this gave me an idea to 'label' the kids with leftover nametags. They could be the same word for a week, or we could switch them up. Terrific idea!
THis is PRICELESS!!! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the idea! My hubby and I are already scheming how we'll use up those sheets of cardboard I've been hoarding! Thank you!!!

Hello!
DeleteThank you! I change them from sight words, to word families and sometimes thematic words too! Enjoy!
What a great way to practice words and the kids don't realize they are learning! How did you make the letters large?

Thanks! I thought they might be die cut, but the letters look large. Our school has only small letters. I really want to make these!
DeleteYou might try using ABC Print and just print them on cardstock. Comic Sans works too since it is 'fatter' font/easier to read.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute idea!!
ReplyDeleteI love this!! I'll be sharing it in a blog post. Can't wait to use these this year!

ReplyDeleteWow! I was just sitting here and thinking....vocabulary words with little pictures the kids drew of the word hanging down from it. Hmmm....
ReplyDeleteExcellent idea! Thank you. Will ABSOLUTELY use these this year.
ReplyDeleteLove this idea. I have done 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 for table names in the past, but I've never done words. Carrie
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing these ideas! TeacherSherpa also has some fun activities for Sight Words
