Week in Review--Elf Week

A Short Week in Review:

Monday:

We had a lot of fun this week. Our week was a little different than most weeks because we started off with a two hour delay due to freezing temperatures! When we got to school we enjoyed some extra exploring time while Mrs. Brown called groups of students over to finish our parent gift. After lunch we had so much fun turning ourselves into elves! We entered our name into an elf name generator directly from the North Pole and it told us what our name would be if we were an elf living and working for Santa. It also told us what we would make as an elf in the workshops and even other special facts! We then finished up the day by adding our faces to an elf video where we laughed and laughed watching ourselves sing and dance as elves!

Tuesday:

We were back on a normal schedule today! We started off the day comparing and contrasting two of our Christmas books that have the same title and words but different illustrations. The books were The Night Before Christmas. It was exciting to see how two different illustrators drew the pictures to the same words! We then continued on with our day by making reindeer food, reviewing how to write CVC (consonant vowel consonant) words on a large ornament and finished our afternoon by making several ornaments with wonderful volunteers! Thank you to all of the volunteers for coming to school and creating an ornament with us!

Wednesday:

Today was such a fun and busy day! We celebrated good behavior today as an entire school by going to the Purdue women’s basketball game. We took buses over to campus, ate lunch in Lambert Field house, had several athletes speak to us about the importance of school and then we got to go to the game! The atmosphere was so much fun, the lights, music and the game were exciting to watch! What a great ending to our first semester in kindergarten!

I hope everyone has a very happy holiday these next few days/weeks and comes back to school well rested and ready to tackle second semester. Your children have grown and learned so much this past semester that I am excited to see where they are headed.
