Using TEXT Feautures

One of our CAFE strategies is "use text features". When authors write, they use a variety of text features. Sometimes the words are larger, smaller, slanted, wiggly, in a bubble or different colors. Whatever the feature is, the author generally has a reason or purpose behind why he/she chose to write it that way. After reading the Dr. Seuss story I Can Read With My Eyes Shut, my students wrote a sentence about something they can do with their eyes shut and included their own text feature! They had so much fun going away from the "typical" way of writing sentences using color, size and more! Below are a few of them.
