During writers workshop today, the students had to use their sight words in a sentence. They were told to write "I see a ___". When I went around to each student I checked their sight words and asked them what they were going to "see". We then talked about the beginning letter of whatever it was they were going to see. For example, "I see a turtle." would be "I see a t."
